A Wedding
Last night, my family and I went to the wedding of my cousin's daughter. I wish you could have all gone with me so that you could have seen an American wedding. There wouldn't have been room, though, since they already had 300 people! I don't think I know 300 peope altogether. The wedding didn't start until 8 p.m., so we got home at 2 a.m. , and we didn't even stay until the very end. Everything was beautiful except for one thing. In a Jewish wedding, the bride and groom stand under a canopy (a kind of temporary roof usually covered with flowers). A few minutes into the ceremony, half of the canopy fell down with a huge crash. Luckily, no one was standing underneath it, but it certainly interrupted the ceremony. I'm sure the bride and groom and their families were upset, but everyone tried to act like it didn't matter. The party was a lot of fun, but the band was so loud that it was impossible to talk even to the person sitting right next to me. The bride and groom looked extremely happy, and I guess that's really all that matters.
